How do you define value?

Let’s face it, if you buy a car and the car is affordable, comfortable, visually appealing and runs well then you would most likely say that you received value for your money. But we’re not in the business of selling cars, we sell a commodity – Electricity.

For our customers to recognize the value they receive from TTD, many factors come into play. The first, and most obvious, being cost. How much you pay for power has a direct impact on the perceived value. In our most recent newsletter, we provided you with a rate comparison between a residential TTD customer and a “Rate 1” residential Eversource customer, both with the same kWh (kilowatt) usage. In that specific scenario, the residential TTD customer is paying less. Now, that may not always be the case, but the comparison does demonstrate that TTD is delivering value to their customers in the form of competitive rates.

Other factors, such as overall satisfaction, reliability, customer service, employees, communication and loyalty may or may not be as obvious, but they are equally important to determining value. Knowing this, we set out in early 2015 to assess how YOU, the rate-payer, perceive the value you receive from us. Well…the results are in and weighing all of the factors together, we earned an overall confidence rating of 95%!

We’re extremely proud of that number however, we also realize that there are areas for improvement. For this reason, we have launched a new, very brief survey this month and will continue to do so on a quarterly basis. I urge you, if you haven’t already done so, to please take a few moments and let us know how we’re doing by taking the survey online.

Our goal at TTD is to truly hear what our customers are saying and do what is necessary to consistently deliver the value that you deserve.

Third Taxing District Earns High Marks Among Customers

TTD Exceeds Industry Benchmarks in 2015 Utility Survey

Norwalk, CT (January 20, 2016) – Norwalk’s Third Taxing District, (“TTD”) announces results of the comprehensive customer satisfaction survey conducted by an independent research firm, SDS Research (“SDS”), in 2015.

In contrast to recently publicized results in a J.D. Power Survey for the area’s larger electric utilities, Eversource and United Illuminating, TTD’s performance earned an overall confidence rating of 95%.

SDS performed a total of 300 telephone interviews with TTD rate-payers (261 Residential, 39 Commercial). Proprietary Industry Benchmark comparisons were utilized for the survey including, Overall Satisfaction, Reliability, Customer Service, Employees, Value, Communication and Loyalty. The Industry Benchmarks are compared to research performed by SDS in the previous 18 months, compiling data from approximately 50 utility companies around the country.

“We are extremely proud of these results,” said Jim Smith, General Manager of TTD. “They show that our residential and commercial customers are very pleased with our efforts to provide reliable power and outstanding customer service.”
