The tree is lit in PURPLE to symbolize Lupus Awareness month. Building awareness of Lupus is essential to improve early diagnosis and
treatment of this unpredictable and misunderstood disease, and ensure that people with Lupus are aware of the support and resources available
to help them manage their disease. Wear purple and tell people why you are showing your support of Lupus research. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs). “Chronic” means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer
than six weeks and often for many years.
