Johnnie Mae WeldonJohnnie Mae Weldon is the Chairperson for the Third Taxing District Commission. She graduated from Fayetteville State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her work experience includes case management and administration for Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now, Inc. (“NEON”), and Pacific House. Johnnie Mae Weldon serves as Selectman of Norwalk, Democratic Town Committee Member, City Constable, Board member of the Norwalk Police Athletic League, and Membership Chair of the Norwalk Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Ms. Weldon is also actively involved in the Friendship House and Bethel AME Church.

 

Pamela ParkingtonPamela Parkington was elected to the Commissioner in 2017, a lifelong Norwalk resident and East Norwalk resident for the past 26 yrs. Retired now, she was the Finance, HR & Admin. Officer for the New Canaan Library for 15 yrs. Prior to that she owned a Small Business Financial Services consulting firm for 26 yrs and was co-owner with her late husband, Michael Parkington, of Parkington Boatworks in South Norwalk for 30 yrs. Pamela was a former Board Member and Treasurer for the East Norwalk Library, is now a District C Chair for the Democratic Party and current voting member of the Democratic Town Committee and she has just started a term on the Parking Authority Commission. She lives in a 1923 bungalow that she loves, her hobbies include gardening and daily walks down to the beach and through the wonderful neighborhoods in East Norwalk.

 

Michele SweeneyMichele Sweeney was recently elected a Commissioner in the Third Taxing District. She has resided in Norwalk for the past fourteen years with her husband, Gregory and their two children. She brings a wealth of experience to this position having worked for a political consultant as a media buyer and was responsible for the advertising budgets for local and national elections. Michele currently serves on the Board of Shore and Country Club and is a volunteer at Family & Children’s Services.

 

Read AuerbachRead Auerbach was recently elected Treasurer for the Third Taxing District. Read grew up in East Norwalk and attended all of the public schools, and to this day has lived in the home he grew up in 67 years ago.

After high school, Read joined and served in the Navy during Vietnam, after which he joined the Carpenters Union. As an active member of the Norwalk community, Read has many accomplishments. For example, as of January, 2022, Read has served 44 years with the Norwalk Fire Department as Captain, holds a Commercial Real Estate Brokers license in CT and NY, is a Norwalk Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, is on the board for the Marvin Beach Association, a member of the Catholic Club, a member and former board member of the Norwalk Shore and Country Club, served on the board of the East Norwalk Improvement Association and a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.

 

Kevin BarberKevin Barber joined the TTD team as its General Manger in 2017. He has over 30 years of utility experience ranging from accounting/finance, customer service to information technology. With Kevin’s diverse background, he provides ongoing leadership and direction to TTD with a focus on the future. Kevin currently serves as the Chairperson of the Connecticut Municipal Electric Cooperative (CMEEC), for which TTD is a member.

Kevin graduated from Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) with a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science. He currently lives in Shelton with his wife, Dawn, and three children. The Barbers are avid swimmers and enjoy the outdoors.

 

Ron ScofieldRon Scofield is the Assistant General Manager of TTD, and has been with the utility since January of 1995. He is primarily responsible for managing internal operations, including billing, customer service and meter readings and operations.

Ron also enthusiastically handles the East Norwalk events that TTD sponsors in support of the community. When Ron isn’t organizing summer concerts at the beach, he can be found getting ready for the annual Holiday tree lighting in Governor Fitch Park at Rogers Square where residents are invited to donate to the Annual Food and Toy Drive, benefiting families in Norwalk.
