Remembering Clyde Ripka
(1957-2026)
Clyde Ripka was a cherished presence at Calf Pasture Beach in East Norwalk, where his beach-side restaurant Ripka’s At The Beach became far more than a place to eat — it was a gathering spot filled with warmth, laughter, and amazing beach time spirit.
For 13 years, Clyde welcomed locals and visitors with open arms, creating an atmosphere that
felt easy, joyful, and unmistakably summer.
His beach-side BBQs were the heart of it all, with the scent of grilled favorites and ocean air while live music played in the background. Families, friends, and neighbors came together there, drawn not just by the food, but also the atmosphere that Clyde created – and to dance!
Beyond the beach, he was known as one of the best caterers in the region. Clyde also believed deeply in giving back, such as with Ripka’s Giving Trees, always supporting the community that had supported him these years.

More than anything, Clyde Ripka will be remembered for his kindness and the connections he fostered. Clyde didn’t just run a restaurant — he built a lasting sense of community that will continue to be felt along the shore.
