East Norwalk Library Gets a New Director
The East Norwalk Public Library is proud to welcome Sylvia Archibald as their new Director!
Ms. Archibald is a passionate and seasoned Librarian and Library Director. She has earned her Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Queens College, part the CUNY system. Sylvia has over fifteen years of experience working in the Library Profession. She left her post as Director of the Wyandanch Public Library (NY) (‘13-’17), and before that as Director of Coalinga-Huron Library (CA) to join the East Norwalk Association Library community.
“After discovering the East Norwalk Public Library, I was absolutely enchanted with its centennial charm. That, combined with the wonderful history of East Norwalk, and its close community ties I am in true admiration. I look forward to meeting the challenges ahead of us to bring positive change to the Library.”
Ms. Archibald wants to develop and bring new programs, resources and services for children and adults, bring about interior improvements and enhance technological services. Increasing awareness about the library’s vitality, offerings and services is also a top priority. “I am looking forward to working with our patrons, supporters, local businesses and government agencies to continue growing the Library for our children and community and moving forward towards the next century.”
